I'm Dylan Fagan, founder of The Cap Table. I graduated from Middlebury College in 2025 with a BA in Economics and four years as a member of the Men's Lacrosse team. My background spans private equity, venture capital, and corporate finance. I've sourced SaaS investments across the US market, built growth models to position portfolio companies for successful exits, and currently serve as an AI Associate to the CFO at Alumni Ventures. There, I work at the intersection of emerging technology and corporate finance, helping the firm strategically adopt high-impact AI tools.
When I'm not working, you'll find me watching the Giants (for better or worse) or losing chess games I was confident I'd win.
I'm Drew Collins, co-founder of The Cap Table. I'm currently a Venture Associate at Alumni Ventures, a top 20 venture capital firm, where I focus on prediction markets, emerging markets, communities, and AI companies.
I studied computer science at Middlebury College, where I built an AI startup during my senior year focused on infrastructure for social media scheduling tools. But my entrepreneurial journey started much earlier—I launched a sneaker reselling business at 11 years old and grew it to $1M in revenue by the time I was 17, running it for six years before transitioning into venture capital.
You’ll find me beating Dylan at chess…not very hard.
To transform noise into a signal
We strive to build a community around the people doing the real work. The AI and tech landscape generates endless headlines, funding announcements, product launches, policy shifts, and breathless predictions. Most coverage either repeats press releases or chases hype.
The Cap table exists to do the harder work: connect dots across domains, question narratives that don't hold up, and surface the patterns that matter before they're obvious. We believe our readers are smart enough to handle nuance, skepticism, and uncertainty and deserve analysis that respects their intelligence and time.
But insight alone isn't enough. We're building a community where founders and investors learn from each other, where striving entrepreneurs find the connections and visibility they need, and where the next generation of builders gets a seat at the table. Not just the ones who already have it.
